Hildebrando de Almeida Prado
This is truly the first (1966) high-rise in São Paulo whose reinforced concrete structure was thought of as an important design element. The structure determines an architectural expression. That would be typical of other projects designed by Botti Rubin over several years. The idea became commonplace, and was adopted in several other buildings throughout Brazil, usually in simplistic versions. The double transition system of the beams used at the level of the first floor, to our knowledge, has never been repeated, probably for economic reasons.
