This one apartment building where the principal façade grid was encased with wooden louvers. In this case the louvers opened on vertical hinges. They were made of cedar wood, and are in good shape − not really weather beaten after nearly 40 years. They were, of course, maintained during all these years, but being on the north face (equivalent to south in the northern hemisphere) has meant being constantly on the sunny side thus avoiding rot.
